The Role

 

We are seeking a full-time RN Registered Nurse with experience caring for patients suffering from memory disorders. The RN will be responsible for administering and interpreting onsite quantitative and qualitative assessment tests as part of a clinical team investigating pharmaceutical treatments for patients with memory or psychiatric disorders. This position is responsible for ensuring that the data collection is in congruence with the philosophy and mission of the company, as well as with the specific scale administration guidelines. The Psychometric Rater follows study-specific protocol guidelines and communicates and interacts with physicians, advanced providers, clinic staff, and sponsors. 

 

Type: Full Time

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm

Location: Lake Worth, FL (no remote capabilities)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct cognitive, diagnostic, and clinical assessments of study participants and conduct caregiver interviews for clinical trials in accordance to FDA, GCP, and study guidelines
  • Actively work to maintain consistency in the performance of ratings over time for individual subjects to ensure efficacy and prevent rater drift
  • Articulate ratings issues to CRO and/or Sponsor, Principal or Sub-Investigator and other members of the study team.
  • Ensure patient safety by appropriately assessing and responding to any potential for harm to self or others and reporting it appropriately
  • Administer study-specific scales and evaluate results to determine protocol eligibility
  • Administer and score psychometric tests for clinical trial participants in accordance to the visit schedule outlined in the study protocol.
  • Provide appropriate community resource referrals to subjects, caretakers, and family, as appropriate.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bilingual in english and spanish required
  • Masters degree in psychology preferred;
    • Will also accept Bachelor's degrees for those who have previous experience serving as a clinical rater for research trials
    • Will also accept RNs with neurology experience
  • Experience providing cognitive assessments in the adult and geriatric populations required
  • Experience in clinical research or psychometry preferred
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate situational awareness and empathy while working with patients of diminished mental capacity within the guidelines of research protocols.
