Our Scottsdale location is seeking a PRN/per-diem psychometric rater or psychometrician to conduct memory assessments for our clinical research trials. The psychometric rater will have in-depth knowledge of the various scales we use to assess a variety of psychologic assessments, but specifically clinical dementia ratings. The psychometric rater is responsible for accurate, efficient, and timely data entry in our database system.  As a key point of contact for the organization, the psychometric rater must present a positive attitude, and have excellent customer service and communication skills. The psychometric rater will report to the Site Director.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Build trusting and professional rapport with prospective and active participants.
  • Conduct a variety of psychometric rating scales.
  • Calculate and utilize ratings scale results to determine baseline cognition.
  • Conduct professional free flowing interviews with participants regarding memory problems and/or family history of memory loss/Alzheimer’s/dementia.
  • Be comfortable documenting health conditions and medication names and doses.
  • Stay professional and empathetic and manage conversations with participants who become upset or frustrated during the rating process.
  • Professional and thoughtful disclosure of memory assessment results to participant.
  • Ensure patient safety by responding appropriately to any potential for harm to self or others that is identified through the evaluations performed.
  • Ensure all information collected during the memory assessment is recorded accurately in our CTMS database, and upload copies of all paper forms.
  • Discuss our ongoing clinical trial opportunities with interested participants.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a health or scientific-related program required
    • Or previous experience as a psychometrician on phases 2-4 clinical research studies
  • Must have experience conducting Clinical Dimentia Ratings with patients
  • Relevant clinical research knowledge preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities and to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to be thorough, organized, accurate, and have a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
