The Role

 

Artemis is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant for the San Diego office. Under the supervision of the Site Director, the MA-C/Medical Assistant is responsible for the conduct of research protocols, such that the integrity and quality of the clinical research is maintained and the research is conducted in accordance with Good Clinical Practice Guidelines. Position Type: PRN/Per Diem

Pay Range: $22/hr

Location: San Diego, CA -no remote work

Travel: None

Work Schedule: 12-hour shifts; nighttime hours

 

 

Responsibilities

  • In-depth understanding of Pharmaceutical Sponsor/Industry initiated FDA studies in order to conduct the study with excellent quality
  • Managing all aspects of a study including participating in the informed consent process, coordinating and performing all visit study procedures per the protocol, entering data and query resolution, Investigational Product management, and managing all study related supplies and equipment, hosting monitoring visits, and attending Investigator Meetings
  • Providing the highest level of care for study patients and delivering excellent customer service to the Pharmaceutical clients
  • Tasks would include taking vitals, rooming patients, cleaning rooms, etc.
  • Administer medications.
  • Perform ECGs
  • Draw blood.
  • Conduct lab testing such as urinalysis, urine pregnancy test, blood glucose testing, urine drug screens, breathalyzers

 

Qualifications

  • Must have a current and valid MA certification in the state of CA. 
  • Must have a current and valid CPT-I or CPT-II certification in the state of CA, as venipuncture is required for this role.
  • Minimum of one full year of experience employed as an MA within a family practice or urgent care setting required.
  • Previous experience within clinical research preferred, but not required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Willing and able to work 12-hour shifts throughout nighttime hours.
