The Role

 

Headlands Research Eastern Massachusetts is looking for a Medical Assistant / Research Assistant to assist the practice with medical support and research protocols. This individual will work directly with the medical staff, research coordinators, and other staff to ensure the best possible care of our patients and that clinic & research visits are being completed in accordance with best practice guidelines.

  • Type:  regular full-time employee
  • Schedule:  Mondays through Fridays, traditional daytime business hours
  • Location:  Plymouth, MA (no capabilities for remote or hybrid)
  • Pay:  $20-28/hour, dependent upon experience and education

Responsibilities

  • Fill prescription refills electronically
  • Assist with procedures (LP’s, skin biopsies).
  • Chart preparation from forms for new patients (e.g med lists, problem lists, PMH, Soc. Hx)
  • Help with incoming calls 
  • Order tests (esp. imaging and certain special labs)
  • Support for PT, OT Soc. Services orders
  • Patient contact with test results when not requiring a Provider to do so
  • Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Qualifications

  • Previous clinical experience in a direct hands-on patient-facing role required
  • Clinical research experience preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge in medical terminology and laboratory skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
  • Capable of multi-tasking
  • Willing to learn phlebotomy
  • Experience with EMR
  • Focus on success of team
