Headlands Research Scottsdale, part of the nationally recognized Headlands Research network, is a fast-growing clinical trial site dedicated to advancing a variety of internal medicine and psychiatric treatments and improving patient outcomes through innovative studies. We are currently seeking a Clinical Rater, Psychometrician, or Clinical Research Coordinator to support our ongoing FDA-regulated trials in Alcohol Use Disorder and mental health.

 

The Clinical Rater will perform onsite psychometric and cognitive assessments in Phase II-IV clinical studies in accordance with FDA regulations, GCP/ICH guidelines, and sponsor protocols. This role is ideal for someone who has experience administering standardized psychiatric rating scales, thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to make an impact in the clinical research industry.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and evaluate study-specific clinical scales and psychometric tests to assess cognitive function, eligibility, and disease progression.
  • Conduct in-person cognitive, diagnostic, and clinical assessments of study participants and caregiver interviews following study protocols, FDA, and GCP (Good Clinical Practice) guidelines.
  • Maintain consistency in rating performance over time to ensure accuracy and prevent rater drift.
  • Communicate assessment findings with lead physicians, study sponsors, CROs, and research teams.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all assessments and study-related activities.
  • Identify and report any patient safety concerns or risks per company policy.
  • Provide community resource referrals to participants, caregivers, and families as needed.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Must have one of the following:
    • Master’s Degree (or higher) in Nursing, Psychology, or related field
    • RN license with at least 1 year of experience administering and evaluating patients using standard psychometric scales.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (or related field) with at least 1 year of experience serving as a Clinical Rater on clinical research studies
  • Prior experience administering and evaluating cognitive or psychiatric assessments required.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and clinical documentation practices
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and various EMR or clinical research systems
